TK at Ginza Apple Store

I attended Tetsuya Komuro's Apple store lecture on Tuesday where TK explained some of his trade secrets on composing and programming. The best part of the event was his live composition which will be released on I-Tunes in 4 weeks through Syn Records. This will be our 6th digital release with TK, we will also be releasing a podcast of this event.

小室哲哉さんが銀座のアップルストアーでレクチャーを行ったので、それを観に行ってきました。そこで小室氏は作曲とプログラミングに関する独自の秘密を公開。でもその日の見所は、その場で始めたライブ作曲で、実はこの曲は４週間後にSyn RecordsよりiTunes限定でリリースされます。これで小室氏とのリリースは６作目になり、なんとその夜の映像がポッドキャストされる予定。

Dom Perignon Rose Party

After six months of planning and preparation, we finally pulled off one of this years best parties hosted by Dom Perignon Rose with a special live performance by Avril Lavigne. As you can see, Avril was presented with a custom Fender Strat designed by Karl Lagerfeld that was used in the Dom Perignon advertising campaign featuring Eva Herzigova. When I met Avril after the show, she said it was one of the best parties ever.

約半年かけて企画と準備してきたドン・ペリニヨン・ロゼのパーティーですが、その甲斐もあり、パフォーマーにアブリル・ラヴィーンを迎えるなど、今年行ったパーティーでも最も素晴らしいパーティーとなりました。ご覧の通り、アブリルは、カスタマイズされたフェンダーストラットを使用したのですが、実はそのデザインはカール・ラガーフェルドによるもの。以前、ドン・ペリニヨンのキャンペーンの為、エヴァ・ハーツィゴヴァをフィーチャーしデザインされたものなのです。
ライブを行った後アブリルに会うと、今まで行ったパーティーの中でも最も楽しいパーティーだと言ってくれました！

a-nation is my first experience attending a mega J-Pop fest and it was actually quite fun, especially being a VIP guest of Tetsuya Komuro, the back stage was good with lots of beer and food, something like a summer matsuri party. TK's show was really enjoyable despite a mega rainstorm, I just can't believe Avex didn't get someone to do a cover of Rihanna, under my umbrella, ella, ella, ella, eh, eh!

大変光栄なことに小室哲哉氏にご招待を受け、人生初a-nationのような大きなJ-POPイベントに行ってきたんだけど、とても楽しかった！バックステージもすごく楽しい空間になっていて、美味しい食べ物飲み物が豊富でまるでお祭りのようでした。TKのステージは大雨にも関わらずやはりすごく良いものでした。この日エイベックスのアーティストの誰かが、リアーナの「アンダー・マイ・アンブレラー」をカヴァーしなかったのは残念！umbrella, ella, ella, ella, eh, eh♪

I've been trying to make some progress on my new album and have started working with producer John Jones. We did 3 days of work in LA working with 2 different guitarists, both of whom had private studios in their house which is the normal way to work now. If you hire a musician, most of them prefer to record in their own studios where they have everything set up, guitars, amps, microphones etc.. I'm going to be doing a lot more with JJ in the coming months.

アルバム制作を進めるべく、ジム・ジョーンズと仕事を始めた。ロサンゼルスで３日間レコーディングをし、２人のギタリストも参加。こちらではみんな自分のスタジオを持っていて、自宅でレコーディングをするのが主流。そのため、もしミュージシャンに仕事を依頼した場合、みんな自分のスタジオでのレコーディングを希望する。ギター、アンプ、マイク・・・全てがセットされてるからね。今後もジム・ジョーンズとレコーディングを行う予定。

８月、ロサンゼルス。

If you've ever wondered why so many movie stars live in Malibu, this is why. You basically live on top of the Ocean and it's beautiful, but very expensive. I was lucky to stay at my friends Lance and Clare's house for the night. It was gorgeous.

どうして多くのハリウッド・スターがマリブが住むかの答えがここに。美しい壮大な海の上で生活できる...が、物価はとても高い。友達のランスとクレアのお家にお邪魔出来てラッキーだった。本当にゴージャスなご自宅。

As soon as we started the engines, there was an oil leak, so we can to cancel the flight. Rather it happened on the ground than in the air.

と思いきや、飛び立つ前にエンジンのオイルリークが発覚。そのためフライトはキャンセルに。残念だけど、飛び立つ前でよかった・・・

New York August 2008
８月、ニューヨークにて。

I went to New York to record vocals with Bebel Gilberto for the forthcoming album of Silvio Annastacio. First stop on arrival was a Pizza in Greenwhich Village

シルヴィオ・アナスタシオのニュー・アルバムのレコーディングをベベル・ジルベルトと行う為にニューヨークへ。まずは、グリーニッチ・ヴィレージにてピザを！

After eating all that Pizza, I woke up really early and had a walk through central park, which was surprisingly beautiful.

たくさんピザを食べた翌日、早起きをしてセントラル・パークを散歩。とても綺麗だった。

The recording session took place at Sear Sound, the oldest studio in New York. The record is being produced by Wata Igarashi

My company Syn moved to new offices in Aobadai on August 1st and had a traditional Shinto Buddist blessing to ensure continued success.
