The final 13 girls where announced today for Miss Universe 2008. Here with the girls and my friend Ines, the MUJ organizer who has just released her book titled "How to become the most beautiful woman in the world" which should surely be a best seller! good luck Ines!
2008年ミス・ユニバースの１３人合格者を今日発表した。写真の中は合格者の女の子達と僕の友達イネス。イネスはミス・ユニバース・ジャパンのオーガナイザーであり、最近『世界一の美女の創りかた』という本を書いた。この本はベストセラーになると僕は信じている！がんばってイネス！

Daft Punk Live December 9 2007

Well not exactly live, but it was memorex! Very entertaining, amazing visuals, good tunes. It's a new thing for me to see bands that are not exactly playing, but by the end of the show I was convinced I'd had a good time. It was nice to see the boys back stage afterward without their helmets on.

正確にはライブではないけれども、メモレックスだ！すごく楽しかったしビジュアルも音もすごく素晴らしかった。僕にとって楽器を演奏していないバンドのコンサートを見るのは初めてだったけど、心から楽しむ事ができた。裏ステージでヘルメットなしのダフト・パンクに会えたのも良かった。

LA Movies

I crammed in 2 late night movies, both very good, but the best was No Country for Old Men the Cohen brothers new master piece. Amazing cast, especially Javier Bardem who is one of the most scary bad guys you'll come across. This is a great film and should be nominated in several categories.

僕はLAにいる間、深夜映画を２本観た。両方とても良かったが僕にとって一番良かったのはコーエン・ブラザーズの新しい定番作品『ノー・カントリー・フォー・オルード・メン』だった。素晴らしいキャスティングの中でも今まで見た事もない一番怖い悪役のハビエル・バーデムはとても良かった。色んな賞にノミネートされるべきすばらしい作品だ。

American Gangster was also really well done, Ridley Scott has come back strong with Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington. Another good film that will certainly be campaigning strong for awards next year.

『アメリカン・ギャングスター』もとても良く出来た作品だった。ラッセル・クロウとデンゼル・ワシントンといった豪華キャスティングとともにリドリー・スコットの復活だ。この作品も来年のアワードを騒がせるに違いない。

LA

I've just returned from another LA trip and had a great dinner with Michael Becker at the Ivy on Robertson. Michael and I have been having dinner there for about 15 years. It's interesting to see their menu is gradually changing from Cajun to more Mexican which I love. Becker as usual had a side of beer, blackened, I went for the Mexican special which was delicious.

今月２回目のLA訪問から帰って来たところだ。僕は今回マイケル・ベッカーに会ってロバートソンにあるアイビーというレストランで素晴らしいディナーをともにした。マイケルと僕は１５年間もこのレストランに来ているが、毎回メニューが少しずつケジャン風からメキシカン風に変わっている。でも僕はメキシカン料理が大好きだ。ベッカーはいつものステーキそして僕はメキシカン・スペシャルにした。すごくおいしかった！
