Don Perignon's Save The Children Charity Gala

I was very honored to be invited to attend this special Charity Gala hosted by Dom Perignon. Not only is this a wonderful event, but a great Charity to support. Attendees included the Imperial Household, Princess Kiko and many other Japanese celebrities. As a big fan of Dom Perignon, it was my first chance to try for the first time the DP 2000 Vintage as well as a fine DP Oenoteque 1995 and DP Rose 1998. The Chef De Cave Richard Geoffroy also attended the event, I've had the pleasure of meeting Richard several times and to hear him describe the vintage whilst drinking his champagne is a great experience.

光栄なことにドン ペリ二ヨン主催のスペシャル・チャリティー・ガラに招待された。単に素敵な一夜ってことだけでなく、チャリティーとして役立てられるということが素晴らしいね。秋篠宮妃紀子さまや、他のセレブ達も参加していたよ。ドンペリの一ファンとして、2000年ビンテージや、1998年もののOenotequeとロゼの初試飲も出来た。シャンパンを楽しみながら、イベントに出席していたシェフ・ド・カーヴ（醸造最高責任者）のリシャール・ジェフロワとの再会を喜び、このヴィンテージの説明を受けたんだ。

G-Star Raw Night #2 with Duran Duran

The second Raw Nights took place on April 14th this time curated by Duran Duran. An amazing night with some very special guests, over 750 people came out on a wet Tuesday evening and Simon and I were still singing at 7AM. Thanks to Roger Taylor for DJ'ing and a surprise set by super model Agyness Deyn, a great live set by Levelload and special thanks to Nagi Noda for the wonderful art direction and decoration.

第２回目の Raw Nights がキュレーターのデュラン・デュランを迎え、４月１４日に行われた。この火曜の夜の雨にもかかわらず、７５０人近くがこの素晴らしい夜に駆けつけてくれた。僕とサイモンは朝の７時までカラオケをしてたけどね。ロジャー・テイラーのDJ セットやスーパー・モデルのアギネス・ディーンのサプライズセットに加え、レベロードのライブ、野田凪さんの素晴らしいアート・ディレクションで盛りだくさんのイベントになりました。

Simon Le Bon back at syn

It was great to see Simon back at syn studios one last time before we move in June. This place has not only been our work place for 13 years, but also our favorite late night party place when there's nowhere else open, Tsukiji cafe relocates one more time!

6月に移転する前に、サイモンを再びsynスタジオに迎えることができて、本当に良かった。このスタジオは13年もの間、我々の仕事場だっただけではなく、どこも行く場所がなくなった時の深夜のパーティ会場だったからね。築地カフェはまたまた移転！

Duran Duran plays in Tokyo

I've known Duran Duran since 1984 and this was the best show I've ever seen them play, they where really on form with great energy and presence, Simon's voice was top class and the Tokyo crowd just went mad for the band. The set list was really well balanced between new songs from Red Carpet Massacre and the old favorite crowd pleasers spanning their 30-year career.

1984年からの旧知であるデュラン・デュランだけれど、今まで観た彼らのコンサートの中でも、今回の東京公演が一番良かった。エネルギッシュで、存在感があふれていたし、バンドも絶好調。サイモンの声が本当に素晴らしくて、観客たちは超ノリノリ、クレージーだった！最新アルバム「レッド・カーペット・マサカー~美しき深紅~」からの新曲と、バンドの30年の歴史に残るヒット曲の数々の演奏は、全体的にもバランスが良かった。

syn records has the number #1 album on iTunes Japan this week beating Madonna, Mariah Carey, Utada Hikaru and many other top artists. I have been working with TK for a couple of years and I'm really proud that his latest instrumental piece, Arashiyama has gone to the top of the iTunes charts. The artwork was created by Tony Williams who is the executive creative director at syn create. There is also a podcast by TK on iTunes talking about the music and a celebrity playlist by TK which features another syn records track called Gente Bonita by Wata Igarashi, which is also included in the label's latest EP, syn studios 02.
